Currently, there are three categories of “clouds“:

1. Public Cloud
2. Private Cloud
3. Hybrid Cloud

Public Cloud Computing – is the IT infrastructure that is used by many companies and services at the same time. Data users of the clouds are not able to manage and maintain this cloud, the entire responsibility for these matters rests with the owner of the cloud. Subscriber services can be offered by any company and individual user. They offer an easy and affordable way to deploy Web sites and business systems, with high scalability, which in other solutions would be available.

Private Cloud Computing – A secure IT infrastructure is controlled and operated for the benefit of a single organization. The organization can manage  its own private cloud or outsource this task from an external contractor. Infrastructure can be placed either on the premises of the customer, or in a data center. Ideal private cloud is the cloud that is deployed in the organization premises, served and controlled by its employees.

Hybrid cloud Computing – Is the IT infrastructure using the best qualities of public and private clouds, with the task. Often this type of cloud is used when an organization has seasonal periods of activity, in other words, once the internal IT infrastructure can not cope with current challenges, some facilities are  transferred to a public cloud (e.g. large amounts of statistical information, which is in its raw form or something that does not represent value for the enterprise), as well as to provide user access to enterprise resources (for private cloud) via a public cloud.

Companies and people who are embracing the cloud computing are doing some things right and wrong as well. Here are the three most common mistakes that could be avoided.

Do Not Consider The Public Cloud Computing

You love your servers and cloud computing so you are going directly to private cloud, without even considering alternatives like public cloud. Although the private cloud is a great solution in many cases but it can be put aside to leverage solutions on demand and capacity at low cost.

Concerns About Security And Governance

Although it is necessary to consider both security and governance in a systematic way, many companies look for themes only after adopting the solution of cloud computing , whether private, public or hybrid. The problem is that you can not just put a layer of security and governance on the cloud, it must be considered from a level of architecture planning.

Lack Of Business Continuity Strategy

Although many cloud solutions offer good elasticity and standby sites, it is your responsibility to plan for continuity of service on systems in the cloud or the traditional model. In addition, you should think about what could happen if your ISP disconnects, or shuts down.

There were some major outages in 2011 and we should see more in 2012. What would happen if this interruption affects you for days or weeks rather than hours?

You need a plan to address this issue, including storing current versions of your data in backup systems that can keep the business running.

In addition to the interruption, you must consider what would you do if your cloud provider closes without notice. And what would you do if the service was blocked due to billing errors or if the provider finds that you use the cloud to violate any rules?

These are obvious questions, if you ask me. Clearly, you can avoid these errors.

A Public Cloud offer its services to anyone on the Internet, while a Private Cloud provides services to a selected group of users and resides within a network owner or a corporate data center, with the implicit advantage of being managed IT staff of the company. A system that uses both Public and Private Cloud Systems is sometimes called a Hybrid.

The main obstacle for companies adopting the Public massive Cloud Computing is the theme of protection of user data. The concern is the possibility, by the service provider or attackers, to gain access to corporate data is not encrypted, whether on disk, in memory or transmitted over the network. Another criticism is the inability to monitor and control hardware and software on which virtual machines are created, or to make audit of security and reliability as those required in the U.S.

The main objective of the Private Cloud Hosting platforms is to optimize IT resources involved in the cycle of corporate provisioning, delivery, monitoring and control of business-critical applications: the elasticity of supply storage, processing and networking, on-demand access to systems, self-provisioning by the user or workgroup, through a centralized management dashboard unified system administrators, workgroup managers and end users.

The lessons derived from the first substantial experience in the use of Public Cloud, have made progress rapidly to a new breed of enterprise applications, where flexibility, integration with critical business applications and independence from hardware vendors and software become key factors in the Private Cloud successful implementations in the coming years. According to Some analysts, the Private Cloud Computing is the future of corporate IT.
